About

Sunniva Rødland, PhD,  is a Norwegian harpist with more than 30 years of experience, living at Nesodden, outside of Oslo. She has a wide-ranging repertoire and is internationally recognized for her distinctive work in contemporary music. She has premiered 16 solo works for harp and maintained long-term collaborations with numerous composers, often acting as a co-creator in the compositional process. Rødland’s projects span acoustic and electronic music, video, performance, improvisation, and installation art. In 2015 she concluded her artistic research (PhD) at the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme/Norwegian Academy of Music. Today, Rødland divides her time between her own productions and projects, freelance performances and teaching.
