Permatrio – a well-beaten path by Marte Røyeng 2025

Marte Røyeng has developed a new work for Permatrio called “a well-beaten path”, ready for its world premiere!

“Bruk kanter og verdsett marginene – don’t think you are on the right track just because it is

a well-beaten path”.

This permaculture principle forms the starting point for a new work for percussion, harp, and voice by Marte Røyeng, created in collaboration with Maggi Asbjørnsen (choreography), Petter Asbjørnsen (live electronics), and Permatrio.

“Intimacy with the world speaks of our ability to re-collect it and re-connect to it and hence of our capacity to find our ‘homes’ within it.” (R. Braidotti)

By working with the edges—both figuratively and in concrete practice—and by directing attention to the margins, the work opens up the possibility of thinking differently about what is, and about how what is can become something more, something other, something unexpected.
